A. W&G was famous for its wooden cored hand scale rulers. This was especially true in the USA where two generations of professionals in technical drawing grew up with the W&G brand. In the US our single sided and opposite bevel profile scale rulers were a staple in a large number of design offices. We are frequently asked to supply these products and unfortunately are no longer able to do so. The wooden cored scale ruler is too labour intensive to make any more, variations caused by its wooden interior defy the automation that would be needed for competitive manufacturing in a modern factory environment. Also too the opposite bevel and single sided hand scale types had to be discontinued because the production volumes associated with them were too small to enable necessary automation in their manufacture.
